Emergency Call: 9-1-1 Non-Emergency Call: (510) 885-3791 or ext 53791 from Campus Phones We encourage all members and guests of the University to immediately contact the department with their concerns regarding public safety related issues. How
When Crime In Progress:
Medical Emergencies:
Criminal Incidents: If you think that you have been a victim of a crime that is not in progress:
Sexual Assaults: The University Police Department realizes that the reporting of a rape or sexual assault is a personal one. We do, however, encourage the immediate reporting of these crimes. A rape or sexual assault is a serious crime and the reporting of the incident may prevent another unsuspecting individual from becoming a victim. Police Dispatchers and Officers are trained to assist the victim or suspect of a rape or sexual assault throughout the entire reporting process, and will provide the victim with important "Victim Assistance" information. Police Officers will work closely with the victim, should the victim decide to seek prosecution. If both the victim and the suspect are enrolled students of the University, University disciplinary action may also be sought. In this event, the accuser and the accused are entitled to have an advisor present during the disciplinary proceedings. If found to be in violation of CSUEB Code of Student Conduct, the offender may be placed on probation, suspended or expelled, and/or be excluded from the campus. The victim may request changes in academic and living arrangements, where such changes reasonably are available. The University Intern Counseling Program will provide confidential on-campus counseling and support services to any student who has been the victim of a rape or sexual assault. The Intern Counseling Program can be reached at (510) 885-3690 or extension 53690 from any campus phone. |
