Approximately 100 CSU East Bay students took the opportunity to develop their leadership skills at the all-day student leadership conference which offered tracks for leaders on various levels: Start -- representing leadership 101, designed for new student leaders; Heart -- for those with some leadership experience; and Art -- for advanced student leaders.

Facilitators, who included faculty, staff, students, and local business people who donated their expertise, planned the "FUNShops" to be not only informative but interactive and entertaining. Sessions included: Schmoozing: How you Meet and Make an Impression, Tranforming Fun into Leadership, Networking:It Takes a Village to Get a Job, Leadership Through Coaching, and Pulling on a Flower Doesn't Help It Grow.

In each of four one-hour sessions of the conference student leaders had five concurrent FUNshops to choose from. In addition, students participated in a "Networking" lunch - an opportunity to meet fellow student leaders and make connections for future activities.

Thank you to all those who helped in the planning and execution of this successful conference. Special thanks to the Recreation Club which provided volunteers who helped with all food arrangements, monitored rooms, and collected evaluations.
